FIRST WURCES WINTER SCHOOL IN EUROPEAN STUDIES (2019)

On February 18-22, 2019, the first WURCES WINTER SCHOOL IN EUROPEAN STUDIES took place at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. It gathered students who did not have EU studies as part of the curriculum. The WURCES team and the guest speaker Prof. R. Petrov (NaUKMA) shared their knowledge about the European integration and its legal, political and economic dimensions in the EU, EU-Ukraine current relations, ongoing implementation of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement and forms of the EU support to Ukraine. Participants and lecturers reflected jointly on the societal developments in Central and Eastern Europe in the connection to Ukraine. The Winter School agenda addressed in particular EU-Ukraine relations; nature of the EU, EU’s institutional framework, EU’s Policies, multi-level governance in the EU, role of local communities, legal regulation of the economic activities in the EU, etc. The head of the EU Information Center Prof. N. Antonyuk talked about the informational support for EU activities in Ukraine.
